find a family

Hello,

I imagine there is a lot for you to consider and I want you to know you are not alone.  I can assure you that I will love your child unconditionally and will provide a warm and nurturing home environment. I believe it takes a village to raise a child and I have a great “village” surrounding me.  Please read on and see what I mean.

About

If you ask anyone to describe me, they will all say I’m caring, creative, and always surrounded by animals. More on that later.  I’ve grown up in Southern California and absolutely love it.  I’ve traveled the world, well, just the Western Hemisphere, and I have to say, there is nowhere like California.  I live close to the beach, mountains, the desert, and most importantly….Disneyland!  It’s truly a privilege to grow up in this area and I can’t wait to share it with a child.

Career/Occupation:

I’ve incorporated my passion for animals into my career and have over 20 years experience in a variety of veterinary hospitals. I’ve worked in General Practice, ER, Internal Medicine, and most recently, Oncology. I have a bookkeeping practice which allows me to have more flexible hours and eventually work from home full time. And finally… I help run a local cat rescue. Animals are a big part of my life as you can tell.

Home/Community:

I love that I have the opportunity to raise a child in my hometown where I can share my experiences from my own childhood in a wonderful community. I live in a beautiful neighborhood with rolling hills and lots of families with young children. I grew up playing and riding bikes with my best friends in the different cul-de-sacs and hills of the neighborhood. My house has a large backyard, where I like to host fun-filled birthday parties with games and scavenger hunts.

Every year, we throw start-of-summer and end-of-summer pool parties. We invite friends, family, and neighbors to celebrate the summer weather. Everyone plays basketball and ping pong, swims in the pool, and enjoys great food!

Interests & Hobbies:

I love going paddleboarding and kayaking, sometimes my dogs tag along. It is a family event with adults and kids on paddleboards and kayaks paddling through the local nature reserve and harbors. I also love to travel. I’ve been all over the Western Hemisphere and am eager to cross the Atlantic someday. I can’t wait to open my child’s eyes to different cultures and traditions around the world when we travel together. Let’s not forget Disneyland!!

I’m a proud Disney Adult and can’t wait to take my child to Disneyland and California Adventures several times a year.  An annual pass is a must have!. I can’t wait to see my child’s face light up when they see Mickey and Minnie, or when they build their first lightsaber in Galaxy’s Edge.

Personal Values:

As I’ve said before, I'm a huge believer in the concept of “it takes a village” to raise a child.  I have a great “village” who will not only support me, but my child.  I have amazing father figures in my “village” that will keep my child well rounded. Between my brother, older cousin, and my best friend’s husband, my child will have strong father-figures to go to when they need a different perspective to help guide them through their life.

One of my personal mottos is “Replace fear with curiosity”. This motto has driven me to learn more about the things I’m scared of. I can’t wait to instill this concept in my child to build their character and show them the more you know, the less fear you will experience.

Openness:

I love that adoptions nowadays are open.  I believe it is best for a child to know where they came from. I have already created a photo book template for my child’s first 5 years growing up.  Included in that template is a whole section about my child’s biological parents.  I plan to continue open communication with their biological parents through the years so they maintain that connection.

Parenting:

My Parenting Approach: A Blend of Structure, Adventure, and Comfort

● **Structure**: I inherited this from my mother, who was always there to assist me with algebra homework, provide nutritious meals, and offer emotional support during my first heartbreak.

● **Adventure**: My travels taught me the importance of savoring the journey rather than merely focusing on the destination. True growth occurs through enjoying the little moments, such as joining a sports team or taking an overnight trail ride at a dude ranch in Wyoming, a cherished memory from when I was eight years old, shared with my entire family.

● **Comfort**: This aspect helped me thrive during my teenage years. Offering comfort during a child's first heartbreak and being their biggest cheerleader while they try out for a sports team or theater role ensures that there is always a reliable support system in place.

In Closing:
