Hello We're Heather and Aaron Champion (yes, that's really our last name!) and we live in the colorful city of West Hollywood, California. We know this is a big decision and we're honored that you're taking time to learn about us and our dreams of becoming parents. This past year we celebrated our ten-year wedding anniversary and have built a life together that's filled with love, fun, consideration and mutual respect and we can't wait to share that with a future child of our own.
We met in Toronto in 2010 while working on a kids' sitcom called 'What's Up, Warthogs!' What started as a friendship between colleagues blossomed into something deeper, perfectly balancing Heather's vibrant energy with Aaron's thoughtful nature. When Heather returned to California, we spent the next 18 months in a long-distance relationship, traveling between countries every 6-8 weeks to see each other. While challenging, this period built an incredible foundation for our relationship, teaching us the importance of open communication and helping us appreciate every moment we share together.
Family is the most important thing in our lives, both as individuals and as a couple. Each of us come from large extended families that share a real closeness that is a source of incredible strength. There is no greater way to honor where we come from than to raise our own child using our own families as an example.
From the moment we met, we knew that children were an important part of our future. We spent the early years of our marriage building a level of security where we felt comfortable and ready to raise a child. Unfortunately, we have struggled with infertility and adoption quickly became the natural choice for us. The idea of bringing an adopted child into our warm, loving and supportive family feels like an incredible gift.
When Aaron moved his life to Los Angeles to be with Heather, we both knew that was it for us and had a small private wedding a year later. In 2024 - ten years later - we finally hosted a long-awaited celebration party, gathering friends and family from across the U.S. and Canada in Toronto – returning to the city where our story began. Bringing our families together from different countries and cultures to celebrate our love reminded us of what we value most: family, diversity, and creating joy in everyday moments.
Better Together
We are true partners in every sense, balancing each other perfectly. Heather's outgoing nature helps Aaron come out of his shell, while Aaron's calm presence gives Heather a strong grounding influence. We've built our relationship on a foundation of mutual respect, open communication, and lots of laughter. Having worked together, built a life together, and supported each other through life's challenges, we know we're strongest side-by-side. There is no question that adoption is the right path for us to grow our family – it felt like a natural extension of the love and acceptance that has defined our relationship from the start.
Hi I'm Heather
I'm an extrovert who loves finding fun in every facet of life. I grew up in a tight knit family with my mom, one brother and a very close relationship with my two cousins. In fact, we all lived on the same street growing up! I grew up loving school, playing sports, and singing, always supported by parents to work hard, obtain a good education, and chase my dreams.
I went to college in Miami where I studied Economics and Film and met some of my life-long best friends. My friends are one of the most important things in my life and I cherish spending time with them whenever I can. I am blessed beyond measure to have close friendships from elementary school to university and my adult life.
I work in the TV industry where I am so lucky to use my creative mind and business sense. One of the things I love most about my job is helping other people reach their highest potential. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing people shine.
What He Loves About Her
Heather brings out the best in everyone around her - and especially me. Her smile, laugh, and energy are infectious and will completely light up a room. It's that spirit that has pulled me out of my own shell; I honestly wouldn't be the person I am today without her influence in my life.
One of my favorite things about Heather is how she becomes everyone's big sister - encouraging them to be their best selves and dropping everything for the people she loves. I joke that she "collects people" and pulls them into her orbit, where they quickly find themselves sharing their deepest secrets and looking for her guidance through life.
Heather has earned the reputation of being a "baby whisperer" - even the fussiest child somehow falls asleep in her arms. Her fierce protective nature and nurturing spirit make me feel incredibly lucky to parent with her. -Aaron

Hi I'm Aaron
I tend to be the quiet, introverted one….which might be because I'm Canadian. I come from a very close family and while it was hard to move 2500 miles away from them, Heather is my person and home is wherever she is.
I spend my days working with writers, developing their ideas for TV shows and I can trace my love of story back to my parents. They raised me and my siblings to love books, movies, theatre and writing of all kinds. One of my earliest memories is me and my siblings cuddled up in bed with my Dad as he would invent stories off the top of his head about the three of us going on fantastic adventures in far off lands. My parents believed in the power of imagination, and it's something I can't wait to share with a child of my own.
I love to cook and feeding people is one of my greatest joys. I always have projects around the house, whether that's building furniture, repairing things, or tending to my garden. While I've never been much of an athlete, I started cycling in 2020 and it's become a major part of my life. At least three days per week you'll find me riding through the hills of Los Angeles and nearby mountain roads. It's the best way for me to unwind and clear my head after a long day of work.
What She Loves About Him
Aaron is the most loving husband and will be the best future dad. His quiet strength and endless patience make him someone that everyone can depend on. I really admire how Aaron makes people feel at ease with his ability to listen and understand without judgment. Children and animals are naturally drawn to his gentle nature – our nieces and nephews especially love it when he makes up silly voices and plays funny games with them.
Aaron's thoughtfulness shows in everything he does, from remembering tiny details about our friends' lives to carefully tending his garden. He's also an incredible cook who shows his love through food, always adapting recipes to make sure everyone can enjoy them regardless of their diet or preferences. His dedication to making our home a warm and welcoming space for everyone who visits shows me every day what an amazing father he will be. -Heather

Where We Call Home
We live in a cozy two-bedroom apartment on a beautiful tree-lined street in the vibrant city of West Hollywood. We feel incredibly lucky to live in one of the most inclusive, colorful and fun cities in California. We live right at the base of the Hollywood Hills, giving us a beautiful view of Los Angeles' most recognizable sights. We are a 30-minute drive to the Santa Monica beach and have some of the most beautiful parks in the city close-by. While Aaron works from a home office, he's looking forward to converting that into a baby's room!
We spend a lot of time snuggled up on the couch watching TV (for professional reasons!) and love to cook elaborate dinners. Aaron spends a lot of time with a small garden he has on the patio, where he grows Tomatoes, Chili Peppers and a variety of herbs. Heather is often found snuggled up on the couch with a book - she reads about 100 books a year- or taking long walks through our beautiful neighborhood.
We have a 15-year-old white and orange cat named Gus. While Heather adopted Gus before we met, Gus has selected Aaron as his 'favorite human' and acts like his shadow - following him around the apartment as much as he can. While he can be a bit of an attention hog, we think he'll be happy to welcome a future baby to the house.
Life Together
One of our favorite things to do is travel. From learning about other cultures, to seeing how people co-exist differently, and eating so much delicious cuisine, we love experiencing new things and going on adventures abroad. One of the greatest joys of our lives is not only being able to travel - but being able to visit friends abroad and we look forward to sharing that wanderlust with our future child.
We love cooking together, often bringing our favorite international cuisines back home to try cooking ourselves. Heather has some food allergies, so Aaron quickly became an excellent gluten-free chef, finding unique ways to make sure Heather can still have all her favourite foods.
Our Big Happy Family
Our families are stretched out across two countries but we're very close with them. One of the best parts of our family is how diverse it is - within our blended families there are people from all over the world - including Venezuela, Iran, Guyana, Sri Lanka, Japan and Netherlands. We are very blessed to have two supportive families that are as excited as we are for us to be future parents.
Heather's family lives very close, in Redondo Beach, and we spend time with them often. Her mom Michelle cannot wait to be 'Nonna' to a third grandchild, and Heather's brother David is a father of two kids - and will be the best uncle to our future child. Brewster family gatherings are filled with fun, games, and lots of laughter with all the cousins, aunties and uncles, and more Italian food than you can imagine! We are very proud Godparents to our niece Fiona, nephew Beckham, and cousin Addie and love being such a present part of their lives. They are very excited to have a future cousin to love and hang out with!
Our Canadian Family
Aaron was raised by his parents Matt and Deb in the Toronto suburbs. Both his parents have remarried, which has allowed our family to grow even bigger in size. Deb and her husband Ben live a few hours outside of Toronto now, and Ben has two adult kids of his own with three grandchildren among them. Matt lives in Toronto with his partner Sergio and their 100-year-old house feels very much our second home whenever we are back in Canada. Both homes are filled with an incredible amount of love, and Matt and Deb are born to be grandparents.
Aaron's best friends are his older siblings Luke and Hannah. Luke lives in Toronto with his partner Rachelle and daughter Nora, and Hannah lives in the mountains of British Columbia with her two adopted dogs. While we only see each other a few times a year, it never feels like we are that far apart because we share a closeness that keeps us connected.
On Parenting
We are both lucky to have been raised by families full of love and support and it's because of that foundation that we can't wait to be parents ourselves. Aaron's Dad spent most of his life as an elementary school Teacher and Principal and his core belief is that any child can succeed if they feel supported, respected and loved.
Heather's parents taught her to work hard, treat people with kindness and generosity, and supported her to chase her dreams. We want to carry these influences to our future children and provide a stable home where they have the confidence to follow their hopes and dreams, but also have the support and the bravery to make mistakes and learn from them.
Our Promise
One of the greatest gifts we can give our child is a broad perspective of the world, and we're excited to share our passion for travel and cultural exploration. We promise to build family traditions that blend different cultures, foods, and stories. We hope to raise a child who is curious, open-minded, and embraces the wonderful variety of ways people live and love around the world.
We will teach them to treat everyone with kindness and generosity and create a home full of laughter and fun. And most of all we will raise them to love with their whole being and dance their heart out like no one is watching.
Thank You!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us! Whether you choose us or another family, we're grateful for your courage and thoughtfulness in considering adoption. We look forward to learning about your hopes and wishes for your child's future and are grateful for the consideration.
