Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services (“Vista Del Mar”) is notifying individuals of a data security incident that may have impacted their personal information. Vista Del Mar takes the privacy and security of all information seriously and apologizes for any concern or inconvenience this incident may cause.
What Happened? On June 30, 2026, Vista Del Mar identified suspicious activity within its computer network. Vista Del Mar immediately implemented its incident response protocols, took its network offline, and engaged external cybersecurity experts to conduct an investigation to determine what occurred and whether any data may have been impacted. While the investigation is ongoing, Vista Del Mar has determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to certain systems containing files that may have included personal information and protected health information. During this time, Vista Del Mar remained operational and continued to provide services to individuals as regularly scheduled.
What Information Was Involved? Vista Del Mar is in the process of reviewing files on systems that were impacted by this incident and will report more as required.
What We Are Doing. Vista Del Mar has been taking steps to prevent a similar incident from happening in the future. Since the incident, Vista Del Mar has been reviewing and optimizing endpoint monitoring software, changed passwords, and implemented additional security controls. Vista Del Mar also notified law enforcement.
Letters will be mailed to potentially impacted individuals once the review of the potentially impacted files has been completed. These letters will contain more information about the incident, complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services, where appropriate, and steps individuals can take to protect themselves.
What You Can Do. Individuals should review credit reports, bank account and other financial statements, and immediately contact their financial institution if they identify suspicious activity. Vista Del Mar encourages you to remain vigilant against incidents of identity theft by reviewing bank accounts and other financial statements.
