You & Me
I have not met you yet, but here is what I know. You were supposed to give birth to a baby and I am supposed to raise them. It sounds weird to say I know, but I believe in fate, in destiny, so even before you read this, we are connected. This baby’s life is a precious gift and I’m so grateful you’re choosing me to share it with. I will love them, care for them and make sure they get to live their very special life in a way that will make them as happy as they can be.
About KimI am a writer and I’ve worked on television shows and movies and that’s how I met Keenan, who starred in my first film. She was adopted. I have always wanted to be a mom--I worked in the baby department of a big department store when I was a teenager--but Keenan and her little brother were the first adopted children I’d ever met. I saw how much their parents loved them and how happy Keenan was and how many adventures they had together and after working with her and I made the decision that I would adopt one day. NOW it’s finally time. I have a loving and stable home, a schedule with a lot of free time, and I am SO ready to be a mom.
I have two little dogs, Ramona and Bruno, who are both adopted. I got Bruno because Ramona was lonely. It took some time for her to get used to the idea that he was staying and would get as much lap time as she did, but now they’re best friends—mostly—except when Bruno tries to steel Ramona’s bones. Then it’s on!
I live in a big apartment with tall ceilings and a lot of light and two pools, one that’s kid size. My best friend has two little girls who are six and ten years old and we have regular pool dates. They’re already obsessed with the crib I bought for baby and can’t wait for them to arrive so we can add them to our brood. My house is across the street from two really good schools and there are also lot of young kids and a couple of babies who live in my building so baby will have plenty of friends. I go for a lot of walks and hikes and make dinner for friends, which is what baby and I will do when they arrive. I like music and road trips, singing and travelling and I’m looking forward to doing all of that with baby as they grow up. One of my favorite memories is going to Austria with my Oma—grandmother in German—when I was ten. I got to hang with some cousins, eat a lot of ice cream and tour famous castles. I want to give baby those kind of adventures too. I work from home and I’ve organized my schedule to have a lot of free time, so I’ll have plenty of time to get to know baby and take proper care of them. Baby will pretty much go everywhere I go until they’re old enough to say, ͞Mom, stop following me!͟
Me In A Nutshell:
When it comes to my personality, I’m mostly sunny side up. I’m also a bit of a cheerleader. I’m happy for people when they get what they want. Cuddle time with the small dogs makes me happy and there will be lots of hugs and kisses for baby. I also love cooking and decorating my house and reading and writing in my journal. I’ve been doing that since I was a little girl. I was raised by my mother and by my Oma. My Oma was a nurse’s aid and my mother worked for the government but I always knew I needed to have a career I was passionate about. It’s why I chose film and TV. I watched A LOT of TV growing up and love telling stories. I work with creative people, mostly women, who want to do good things for the world and I teach them not to be afraid to use their voices, to live their lives full on and how to share their work with the world. I’m passionate about social justice and know that ALL human beings deserve equal and fair treatment whether they’re black, white, Hispanic, straight, gay and everything in between. Although I’m not religious, I am spiritual. I meditate and do yoga. I listen to my soul for guidance because I do believe that everyone has a soul and it has all of the answers to everything you’ve ever wanted to know about yourself, if you know how to ask the right questions. In the deepest part of my soul, I know I am meant to be a mom. I’m also lucky to have good friends who are supportive about me becoming a mom. As a matter of fact, my best friend who I have been friends since he was eighteen wrote me a reference. My friends know how seriously I take the responsibility of being a mom, how deeply I love the people and things that are entrusted to me, and why I wanted to be really, really ready before I became a parent. They also say I’ll be a good one and that makes me really happy. I’m excited to get to know baby and to help them figure out what they want to be in the world. Maybe they’ll want to be a musician? Or a doctor? Or an inventor? Or a lawyer? Or a basketball player? Or an entrepreneur? Whatever they want to be I will help them figure out how to do it. I love them already. Now that you know a little bit about me, I can’t wait to meet you and hear all about your story.
