Darren & Liz
Words cannot express our gratitude and admiration for your courageous decision. While we cannot begin to imagine what you have been through, we can promise we will provide a safe, loving and fun home for your child. We hope that as you read this, you get a sense of who we are, and see that we have a tremendous amount of love and happiness to share.
About Darren & LizWe met through close family friends in Los Angeles, and love calling this city home (although Liz misses actual seasons every now and then). We have been married for 7 years and have been together for over 11. Time flies when you spend it with your best friend! We are both big foodies and enjoy trying new types of cuisines whether at home or out at a restaurant. However, Sunday evenings are typically spent cooking together for family dinners. We began our journey to create a family about 6 years ago. After numerous failed IVF attempts and a miscarriage, we decided adoption was the right path for us. We love the idea of being able to provide a child a loving, safe home while at the same time building the family we always wanted.
Darren is one of the most charismatic people I have ever met. He literally could become best friends with a brick wall! His sense of humor is what initially caught my interest, but it was his big heart that won me over. Darren grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from California State University, Northridge. He works in finance and has been doing so for over 12 years. Darren has a passion for cooking and can turn any ingredients found in the kitchen into a fantastic meal!
Liz is as loyal and caring as they come. She would give the shirt off her back if someone needed it. While
she loves staying in and watching her questionable taste in reality shows, she most of all loves to be
surrounded by her family and friends. Liz graduated from San Diego State University and has worked in
the fashion industry for over 10 years. She loves the creative side of the business and gets particularly
excited about outfitting the family! Some of her favorite hobbies include reading, yoga and hiking.
We live in a quiet family friendly beach community with excellent schools and beautiful parks. A few of
our favorite activities to do together in our neighborhood include walking on the beach, riding our bikes on
the boardwalk, and spending time with our family and friends nearby.
Family is extremely important to us, and we try to spend as much time together as possible. We are
fortunate to have a majority of our immediate family live in Los Angeles to provide love and support once a
little one arrives. We have nieces and nephews that we are very close to, and they are so excited to welcome
a new cousin!
The holidays are our favorite time of year as the whole family gathers in Northern California to celebrate
Christmas at Liz’s parent’s house. It is a special time filled with lots of laughter and good food.
