Daniel & George
To a VERY special Woman:
First and foremost, thank you for considering us. Your interest in us gives hope that one day we will fulfill our dream to give our son a brother, or a sister, for a lifetime of siblings’ love and laughter, and we cannot even start to express our gratitude to you for this opportunity. As adoptive parents, we promise to raise your baby in an environment surrounded by compassion, joy, and a sense of respect for all humankind. Love is what brought your baby to us and love is what we will nurture your child with.
With much respect and admiration,
George & Daniel & Matteo
About Daniel & GeorgeSince the day we met at a Starbucks in Santa Monica, we knew we were meant for each other. We can truly say that we are each other’s best friend. We were already a “family” within a few dates, and the thought of having children was second nature to us. Shortly after we met, we moved in together and filled our home with endless conversations of love, laughter and hopes for our future. In September of 2017 we adopted Matteo and from that day our lives changed forever. We LOVE being dads and we cannot wait to give our boy a sibling and grow our family even further! In October 2019 we got married with an intimate ceremony in Santa Fe, NM and Matteo was our ring bearer.
About George by Daniel
George is one of the most courageous people I know. His commitment to live a truthful life and his pursuit for real connections has been in-spiring. Behind a shy facade, he is witty, smart, cultured and incredibly well traveled. His calm demeanor in difficult situations is the perfect balance to my more emotional approach.
He is professionally terrific and highly respected in his industry. George melts my heart every time I see him with our son Matteo. He is the best father and parent anyone can dream of: loving, caring, attentive, dedicated and always smiling... even when Matteo is fussy!!! Fun fact about George: his birth name is Ufuk (/oofook/ which means horizon), but since its pronunciation can be tricky, his close friends named him George... after George Clooney!
About Daniel by George
Daniel is a true “people person” and is therefore very adaptable in every situation. His eye for detail is phenomenal and his taste is world class. He is very successful in his profession, and I admire him for that. Most importantly he has a good heart and the right values to be a great father to our children. I was not surprised to see his natural gifts come through when Matteo joined our lives. Daniel is the ultimate dad, providing to his family with love and determination.
Daniel came to this Country with nothing but drive and ambition, and he made it. He has been instrumental in helping me adapt to my new life in America, and I trust him with my life.
George is an Associate Director for an International Staffing Firm and Daniel is the Executive Creative Director for a fashion brand.
We are very fortunate that our jobs have given us a lot of freedom to take all the time needed to raise Matteo and our employers are committed to let us do the same for our next child. We both were able to take long parental leaves that allowed us to be with Matteo day and night until he was ready to join the local daycare where he learned how to socialize and interact with other children. Because of that Matteo has a wonderful support system and he is already a confident and beautifully adapted young man.
We are both relatively new to the West Coast and currently building lifetime friendships. The more we go out and interact as a family and we introduce ourselves and our son, the more we’ve become friends with families who have gone through a similar journey. All of them have been incredibly welcoming and have made themselves available to be part of our circle. We also have amazing friends and family members in Europe, ready to get on a plane and join us. After Matteo was born, we had very little privacy... they all wanted to move in with us... Ha!
We live in a beautiful duplex in Santa Monica which we bought with our future family in mind. We have 3 spacious bedrooms and 3 bathrooms ready to accommodate your child and his/her friends. The living room is spacious and bright with floor to ceiling windows. A nice patio with a fountain is in the back of the house, which creates a perfect hangout for summer lunches, barbecues and candlelit dinners. Our neighbors are all young couples with young children. Your baby will be surrounded by a diverse and vibrant community with lots of kids to play with. We are a few blocks away from the ocean, a street away from one of the best schools in the Country, and a short walk from a children’s park with lots of playful activities.
We must also mention our dog, Sophia: she is our sweet and furry lovebug. She is our everyday reminder that happiness is within reach and that simple unconditional love is real.
Interests & Hobbies
We love to discover new neighborhoods in LA, hike, cook and bike to the wonderful beaches nearby.
We are explorers too! Every year we try to go somewhere foreign and exotic. Together we have been to Australia, Italy, Japan, Canada, France, Germany, Costa Rica, Spain, Belize, Guatemala and the UK. We are fluent in 5 languages: English, Spanish, German, Italian, and Turkish (and some French and Chinese too!). This allows us to communicate comfortably everywhere we go. We lead an active lifestyle, that we love to share with each other: running, yoga and swimming are some of our favorite activities. George also loves to cook new healthy recipes and Daniel is the ultimate house keeper.
And because of Matteo, we are now super knowledgeable of all the existing children’s playgrounds, zoos and recreational centers in the Greater LA area.
Life is at its best when someone can share his/her gifts, talents and fortunes and we want to share the life that we have created for ourselves and our son with your child. Love is the ultimate gift and reward. This and respect for all humankind are the most important things that we could teach our children. Because of our diverse backgrounds, we believe that culture, empathy and kindness hold the keys to make the world a better place. Traveling has made us understand each other better, taught us respect, and made us appreciate differences in opinions. Together we embody a good balance of the southern European warmth and vibrancy, with the northern European appreciation for dedication and commitment. Both our sets of parents came from challenging backgrounds: they had to work hard to provide basic necessities to us and our brothers while securing a good education for us all. They taught us to strive to perform at our best under any circumstances and to leverage the opportunities our lives presented to us. We inherited from them something that only later we learned how to verbalize, “success is when preparation meets opportunity,” for which we will always be grateful.
We are open to pretty much all degrees of openness or closeness as the biological parents desire. For example, with Matteo’s birthparents we visited twice on his first year, but since then they have been a little more reserved, and we are respecting that. We have been sending texts, pictures and videos. But whenever they want to disconnect, we have been very careful with their needs too. We truly believe that all children desire to understand (at the right time and with a language appropriate to their age) where they come from. Birth parents and adoptive parents came together to give them the most wonderful life, and it is only positive and constructive to share this tale of love and generosity with them.
When it comes to parenting, we speak about it in the Personal Values section.
On a lighter note, every few weeks we like to host dinners with friends and coworkers: we cook family recipes given to us by our European grandmothers. We love to mix up our guests, entertain them, make new connections and simply laugh at the fun stories everybody shares at the dinner table. And when they bring their kids, the house turns into a playground for everybody! Our son and his friends play while the adults oversee their interactions and make sure everyone is having a great time. We also enjoy quiet times around the fireplace, with good books, a cozy blanket and Sophia (our dog) wrapped around our legs. In addition to our place in Santa Monica, we have an apartment in Manhattan. We like to spend a few days there every year to visit friends, nurture our minds with art and culture, and absorb the vibrant energy of the city.
Our brothers are now married and have kids with their wives (total of 4 boys and 2 girls). We love to have them join us for entire weeks at the time (since they all come from far) and play at our home with your child!
Dear birth parent/s, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us. Please know that we are fully committed to do all in our power to teach your child to be proud of where he came from, to feel, receive and give love and respect others and be respected. You are the first and most important stepping stone of our new journey and, because of that, we will be forever grateful to you.
