Aaron & Stephen

Thank you for taking the time to consider us as potential new members of your family and–possibly–future parents to your child.  We want to extend a warm invitation to reach out and introduce yourself so that we can share our goals for the future and begin an incredible experience together.

About Aaron & Stephen

We’re an energetic couple that first met at a New Year’s Eve party in 2006, fell in love at the stroke of midnight, and have been happily married since 2008. Our meeting was magical (and timely) as each of us had just ended a former marriage knowing that long lasting true love and the joy of raising a family were an important part of our life plan and our destiny. Our first date was on New Year’s Day following our introduction the previous night. We knew just five minutes into that date that our love of the arts, cooking, travel, close friends and big families was yet another sign of something very special. We have constantly planned sincethen to adopt a child, and our recent move from Boston, MA to Los Angeles, CA began the process—a new adventure that we hope to share with you.

Our home:
Far from the skyscrapers that most people associate with the LA skyline, our Beverly Grove area is full of restaurants, cafes, convenient shopping and a remarkable suburban feel. We know many of the shopkeepers and gallery owners along nearby Melrose Avenue and rarely use our car for errands or entertainment— nearly everything we do is within walking distance, which is unusual (but very special) for Los Angeles.
Our home is a charming Spanish-style house with a family living-dining kitchen layout that is its heart and soul. Our large backyard has tropical landscaping, a wonderful lawn and is where we plan to spend hours of play time with our child.

Our family:
Steve is the proud father of a son, Adam, from his first marriage. Aaron has been an active stepfather through Adam’s college years and early adulthood. So we both have valuable hands-on experience with the amazing thrill of child-rearing— something that has come naturally and has left us longing for more. We each come from a large family (Aaron’s in New York/New Jersey, and Steve’s in Southern California), and count on our dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins and their extended families as an important part of our support system.
Our network of friends is extremely diverse and very close. Most of our social activities are at home in our backyard with a balance of straight and gay couples, some with children, but all together for many years and extremely supportive of our adoption plans (as are each of our entire families).

Our interests:
We regularly explore the trails and wilderness of Griffith Park, a massive hillside recreational area just minutes from our home that was a wonderland to Steve when he was a child, and later a place that he took his now-grown son. Its merry-go-round, train rides, pony rides and zoo are legendary LA experiences that will definitely be fond memories that we pass along to our child.

Our careers:
In 2014, Southern California’s booming technology industry inspired us to relocate to Los Angeles and expand Steve’s 10-year old consulting business that helps young companies get focused, meet investors and grow intelligently. Aaron is employed by a large Boston company as a marketing event specialist and also works from home, traveling occasionally. He plans to resign from his position when we become parents so that he can be a stay-at-home dad. Working from our home office has been great for each of us and has many advantages, such as not spending ten or more hours per week commuting in traffic. That time will be spent as a family and sharing the responsibility and joy of raising of our child.

Our thoughts for you:
Now that you have learned all about us we would love to learn all about you, your dreams for your child, and your hopes for your future. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about us. We would love to hear from you.
